The Electrode E10 can be used for wood up to a measuring depth of 5/8" (15mm). For predrilled holes or hard to reach places teflonized pins with a maximum length of 7" (175mm) are available.Measurements of soft wood can be taken by grasping the handle and pushing the pins into the wood by hand. Hammering on top of the handle drives pins into hard wood. The handle is built out of high-impact plastic and does not break. The elongated base serves as lever to pull the pins out of the wood. Pre-drilled holes are recommended for the EL 7" (175mm) long pins.
